The client obtained planning permission to build a new detached passive home with separate double garage next to the Oxford Canal. Our contract was to build the house designed by their architect.
Having cleared the site of trees and undergrowth the ground was levelled. The concrete foundations were laid and piling put in place. This was carried out in conjunction with the River and Canal Trust.
The suspended ground floor slabs were put in place and a passive preformed timber frame erected to create a two-storey property.
The outside brick and timber skim was constructed along with a welsh slate roof that accommodated solar panels. The home also had an air source heat pump system with underfloor heating and grey water recycling. Timber sleepers were used to retain ground to form pathway and ground space around the property along with cobble rumble strips and a stone gravel drive to the garage. The property was built with an outside balcony over looking the Oxford canal.
A stunning low energy passive home with mooring rights for a narrow boat.
