Case Study - Barn Cottage - Southam
The Brief
Demolish existing spaces to provide new bedroom and ensuite at first floor level. Demolish existing lower floor kitchen and bedroom space to produce a multi functional dining living space with cloakroom. Renovate various areas of the cottage and gardens.
What we did
Removed the old roof above the existing kitchen and lounge space and built a new roof with Velux windows over the new bedroom, en-suite and storage space. A box bedroom was remodelled to form an extended landing.
Removed the old walls to the ground floor existing bedroom and kitchen to create a large open plan kitchen family room with additional cloakroom.
Renovated the existing cottage with new staircase, refurbished bathroom, additional electrical works, new front door, and decoration to various areas.
A laundry shoot was built from first floor to the ground floor.
The garden was stripped completely back. New top soil, lawned areas, planting, patio and path were created along with a new hedgerow
Result
Working with the client and their ideas and wishes we renovated and modernised an 1850s cottage to preserve its authenticity of the whilst creating a contemporary dream home within.
